I formed ScarKord back in 2001, initially as an outlet for producing remixes and have spent the intervening years writing electronic music as a semi-serious hobby.
Over that time, I’ve remixed a wide range of artists including Plaid, Squarepusher, Gary Numan, Jesus Jones, Mary Pastorius, Savage Sound System, Ariel Aparicio and Oursvince to name but a few. In addition to Plaid, other key influences for me are Meat Beat Manifesto and Orbital/Paul Hartnoll, just to give you an idea of where I’m coming from.
I’m also a founding member of the Clear Air Turbulence collective which I formed with my musical twin, Cosmo Valseca. Cosmo has very much taken the reins on that particular project of late and assembled a very talented group of artists who collaborate on each others work.
Like many of my contemporaries, I can easily get lost for hours making noises with my modular synths, but as Brian ‘BT’ Transeau wisely says, these sounds and loops are gifts for my future self.
Oh, and as you can see, I’m clearly not Scarlxrd, regardless of Google suggesting I am. Indeed, he would have been only 6 or 7 when I started this!
